Manchester United vs Chelsea

Chelsea travel to the Olympic Stadium on Monday, March 6 to face West Ham United. Chelsea are, and have been all season, the form team. In their last match against Swansea the Blues produced one of their most dominant performances yet. Missing Antonio, it will take something special from West Ham to upset this Chelsea team.

Conte’s men will be wary of Andy Carroll’s aerial threat as Victor Moses and César Azpilicueta’s heading have been one of few weak points in their defense this season. All said and done, Chelsea should have the quality to take home the bragging rights in this London derby.

Team News

Chelsea have listed Eden Hazard and David Luiz as possible injury risks, but they’ll still likely be in the starting XI tomorrow. Otherwise, the Blues have a fully fit first team. West Ham are faced with a few more selection problems as Diafra Sakho, Angelo Ogbonna, Álvaro Arbeloa, and Gokhan Tore are all out injured. Michail Antonio is suspended after he was shown a red card in the Hammers’ previous fixture, but Andy Carroll is expected to be fit to take his place.

With a fully fit squad at his disposal, Antonio Conte’s biggest decision will be whether to continue fielding Cesc Fàbregas after the Spaniard’s impressive performance vs. Swansea. Away from home and against a better attacking team than the Swans he’s likely to revert to the familiar partnership of Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kanté.

West Ham: WLWDD

The Hammers had a turbulent few games in weeks previous, beating Middlesborough 3-1 before losing to Manchester City by four the following week, then returning to form with a win over Southampton. More recently scoring draws with West Bromwich Albion and Watford have seen the Hammers drop points.

Chelsea: WDWDW

Chelsea have had a tougher schedule recently than West Ham, drawing Liverpool and beating Arsenal. Burnley managed to hold them to a draw, but the Blues got a dominant 3-1 win over Swansea last week. Prediction: Chelsea 3 – 1 West Ham.
